Michelle’s love for cooking started long before she became a chef. Her journey began in Melbourne in 2006, where she honed her skills in the kitchen. But it wasn’t long before she felt a calling to explore her roots. Driven by a passion to discover “la cucina italiana,” Michelle set off for Abruzzo in 2012 to dive deep into the food culture of her heritage.
During her time in Abruzzo, Michelle worked as a professional chef, blending her Australian cooking experience with the traditional techniques and flavors of the region. Inspired by the warm, welcoming kitchens of her nonnas, she absorbed not just recipes, but a sense of community and love for food that runs deep in Italian culture.
“After my adventure through Italy, I knew it was time to bring that passion back home and share it with everyone,” Michelle says. That vision came to life in 2017 with the opening of Abruzzo Lab Street Food, followed by Abruzzo Lab – Arrosticini Bar in 2018.
At Abruzzo Lab, we want to bring the same feeling you get when sitting down at your nonna’s table—good food, good company, and a true taste of Italy. We specialize in sharing dishes, where every bite is an experience, and every meal is made with the same love and care as if we were cooking for the family.
Abruzzo Lab offers a welcoming venue ideal for intimate gatherings, celebrations, corporate functions, and more. Our space combines warmth and charm with a professional touch, ensuring a memorable experience for you and your guests.
